Both companies are built around the same idea: solve the energy and grid side of electrification properly, rather than just supply more hardware. Jump Energy works across light commercial, heavy commercial, public transport, and industrial fleets. Kwetta's own focus is narrower still: trucks specifically, where grid constraints are felt the most.
Kwetta's hardware is live at 18 sites across New Zealand and Australia, supporting buses, trucks and charge point operators. Each site uses a different mix of grid services — from dynamic operating envelopes to voltage support — depending on the site’s capacity availability and future energy requirements.
The two companies are pairing Kwetta's grid-forming hardware and Grid Key services with Jump Energy's sales, installation and support network, so fleet operators get both the EV charging infrastructure and the energy management to scale it, without the grid becoming the constraint.
Kwetta: Grid-forming EV chargers, Grid Key services, and Level 3 operation and maintenance.
Jump Energy: Consultation & design, engineering & installation, asset lifecycle management, Energy-as-a-Service, battery energy storage solutions, and solar PV solutions.
Together: Customer and network provider communications, site energy orchestration & optimisation.
Grid capacity is often the first barrier a fleet operator meets, and the one that decides whether a project goes ahead. Kwetta's founders have built their business around solving that problem properly, with a practical, collaborative approach that closely matches our own. Adding Kwetta's grid-first hardware and services to our design, delivery and operational expertise provides customers a scalable, end-to-end solution to this challenge, with long-term support and reliable performance and uptime.
— Alex Watson, CEO, Jump Energy
We've been in Jump's orbit for a while now, and it felt inevitable they'd end up a Solution Partner for Kwetta. Both sides prioritise the same things — grid optimisation and site-wide orchestration — and we both see that heavy trucks are the segment that feels this most. Kwetta rounds out Jump's EV charging hardware offering, and it's a natural fit for the energy-optimisation focus their customers need on site.
— Dustin Murdock, Co-Founder & CEO, Kwetta
